EVEN SOCIETY IS CONFUSED IN THIS ENVIRONMENT!

Democratic societies have been confident about their social order; on the assumption that given equal opportunity, most of mankind would be compassionate, have good human values and hence we would have a civil and harmonious society with just Laws. Crime, disorder (un-patterned behavior) and even disease was expected to occur within a small minority and hence by design our societal and legal Laws were framed to be deterrent and not preventive. We know now that “enforcement is proving to be a huge cost and within emerging democracies; corruption becomes the largest economic force”.

Society assumed that “the family” would provide civic and moral teaching as a natural input and as their responsibility. We however did not foresee that our new social order which we call URBANIZATION would bring about the destruction of the family unit. This is almost by design though totally unintended. Modern education has been based on URBAN growth and allour models for economic growth are based on “individual successes”. Rural living over centuries developed systems that were “economically inclusive” for the community. Urban education and living is TOTALLY DESIGNED FOR THE INDIVIDUAL and UNINTENTIONALLY EXCLUDES THE COMMUNITY

Today we seem to require unending resources and consistently increasing costs for management or enforcement JUST TO protect Democracy and free markets! We have thus been unable to invest time or resources to ENLARGE THE EFFECTIVENESS of democracy to be more inclusive. THE RESULT HAS DEVIATED FROM THE INTENT.

Democracy is without doubt the preferred social order that started with millions, AND now has billions of aspiring equals. The current model (based on the developed world) is unaffordable and needs an urgent design change to insure that the poor economies can first create functioning democracies, so as to be able to have “sustainable ones”.

Within the developing World it would appear that only India seems to have an “established and irreversible democracy of 60 years” and despite problems the Indian citizen will not permit any other model of social order.

Though the infrastructure for protecting democracy has been created, it is faulty because of it has a “poor delivery design and is thus unabile to protect individuals within billions”.

This I believe is because all democracies are pushed to emulate only the developed world model of democracy and do not have the economic power or literacy levels to protect the many within its diverse and disparate population.

NOTE: This is a key issue within CUCUWORLD and we seek many participants to help us develop what we believe is our urgent need to “enlarge the scope of democracy to be more inclusive”. The developed world cannot be emulated based on “their huge costs” BESIDES their result over the longest period has shown a consistent narrowing of beneficiaries”. We cannot afford this result!!
